MP3 gets rid of a lot of information that is recorded in a song which our ears cannot hear and then uses complex algorithms to reduce the file’s size. This enables you to get a lot of songs on a CD. It has also facilitated download over the internet due to the reduced file size

.mp3 technical details

MP3 format is a lossy format. This means that during the compression, some information is lost. MP3 files use perceptual coding and this means that it removes the information that your ear doesn’t notice. The reason why people use lossy formats over RAW formats is that RAW formats are very larger and cannot travel over the internet at a great speed. Due to its reduced size, MP3 allows users to download files at a reasonable speed.
