PAGES, PAGES Apple Pages Document (.pages)
The .pages file format
Pages is a cross between more than one application that permits users to perform both word processing and page layout tasks. It was first released by Apple in February 2005 and it competes with Microsoft Word. It was initially intended to simplify document creation and editing compared to Word, and at the same time strip out many of Word's more complex features.
